The Artwork of Roger Pearce
Paintings
Both Oil on Canvas, and Digital Corel Painter, Adobe Photoshop, and other software and combinations thereof, in-fact I use any means available to make these images. They might be finished but maybe not, have a look, and comment if you like.
Abstracts
Abstract is the language of art in it's purest form. The randomness of recognizable shapes that may appear to some but differently to another. These are a combination of sculpture and painting, and many things happen by chance when combined with lighting and perspective. Everyone sees something different. 3DImages
3D, where polygons, vertexes, mapped textures, and virtual atmospheres, lights, and cameras, combine to produce an infinite virtual photographic studio. Pictures of a scene can be taken from any angle and distance using the camera which has the same optical functions of a real camera. The computer then calculates all the light rays from the light source to the scene to the camera for every pixel in the image, including reflected light and shadows. It does this line by line to produce a picture called a render. These images are one possible render of a 3 dimensional space. It is in essence then, virtual photography, but also incorporates modeling (sculpture), texturing (painting) and design, giving full power to the artists expression.
I think Da Vinci would love these tools too.
